The refurbished path for the Camino del Desfiladero del Tajo Gorge walk in Ronda starts at the Plaza María Auxiliadora and leads down to the base of the Puente Nuevo.

To get there just cross the Puente Nuevo after the Parador hotel into the old town and then take calle Tenorio opposite the painted tiles of Ronda Romántica.

A-397 Ronda to San Pedro Partially Re-opens After Storm Damage Repairs

UPDATE 15/07/2025. From the 14th of July 2025, the A-397 road, which links Ronda with San Pedro Alcántara, has been partially reopened to traffic. This follows several months of closure caused by essential repair and maintenance work along the route. The reopening was welcomed by the Minister for Public Works, who noted that the project was completed ahead of schedule, thanks to efforts to shorten the originally planned timelines. This partial reopening is expected to ease local travel and reduce detours for residents and commuters in the area.

Over the last few years the wineries (“bodegas” in Spanish) of Ronda have greatly increased their production and are going through what can only be described as a “boom time”. There are over 20 excellent vineyards producing Red, Rosé and white wines with the denomination of origin “Wines of Malaga” (Malaga being the province that Ronda belongs to.)
