Where to Park in Ronda Spain

Where to park in Ronda Spain

Where to park in Ronda Spain? Well, Ronda can sometimes be a difficult little city to drive around and finding any free parking is becoming increasingly difficult!

I have also mentioned a few hotels that have parking facilities for their guests as well.

From this article you can reserve your parking in Ronda easily, online and in advance.

IMPORTANT: If you’ are driving a large motor home or towing a caravan don’t even think about entering the city centre! Instead park in one of the outlying streets and then walk into the centre. (See camper vans section below if you are staying for the night or more.)

Puente Nuevo Vehicle Access Restrictions in Ronda

Puente Nuevo and El Tajo Gorge in Ronda

Starting in January 2025, access to the Puente Nuevo bridge in Ronda will only be to vehicles registered with the town council. This new regulation aims to preserve the historic heart of the town and ease traffic congestion. However, if you are visiting or staying in a hotel in the affected area then you can still enjoy the charm of Ronda and its Old Town with a few simple tips to navigate the changes.

Restricting traffic to the Puente Nuevo has been tried before and has failed each time due to public outcry. We should remember though that this beautiful monument was built many year ago for horses and carriages and certainly not the amount of traffic it has to endure in modern times.

IMPORTANT: Hotel guests staying in this area will be able to pass through by notifying their hotel in advance, who will then inform the police of their reservation. To enforce the restrictions, cameras will be installed at Cuesta de las Imágenes (San Francisco) and Virgen de la Paz, near the intersection with Mariano Soubiron and the Plaza Merced.

Exploring Andalusia: Renting a Car to Travel from Malaga, Seville, and Jerez Airports to Ronda

Discover cars - Hire cars to get to Ronda

Andalusia, with its sun-soaked landscapes, ancient architecture, and vibrant culture, is a region of Spain that beckons travelers from all over the world. One of the jewels of this region is Ronda, a town perched dramatically above a deep gorge and brimming with history, charm, and natural beauty.

The famous Puente Nuevo or “New Bridge” in Ronda is one of the main monuments in the “City of Dreams”.
Why Rent a Car?

While Ronda is a popular destination, it doesn’t have its own airport so this makes flying into one of Andalusia’s key airports (Malaga, Seville, or Jerez de la Frontera) and renting a car the best way to reach this stunning town.

The beauty of Andalusia is not just in its towns and cities, but in the journey itself. Renting a car gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace, take detours to discover hidden gems, and stop whenever the scenery demands a photo or a leisurely picnic. Public transport in the region, while available, does not offer the same flexibility or the convenience of a car, especially when traveling to smaller towns like Ronda.
