Hotel Parador, Ronda ****

The parador in Ronda - About Ronda Today

The Parador de Ronda is the most popular hotel (and the most reserved by Ronda Today website visitors. This is not just because it offers the same exceptional service as other Parador hotels, but because it is so centrally located, offering everything the experienced traveller demands.

Its location immediately adjacent to the Tajo gorge and Ronda’s iconic Puente Nuevo, is the reason this hotel is often fully booked. On the edge of the gorge, there are only a handful of hotels, and the Parador has the best vantage point. All guests of the hotel are able to enjoy drinks on the terrace patio, which is especially nice at sunset.

Ronda, the City of Dreams

Hotel San Francisco in Ronda

Ronda is one of the most spectacular towns in Andalucía, dramatically perched above the El Tajo gorge in the mountains of Málaga province. Famous for its Puente Nuevo bridge, historic old town and extraordinary landscapes, Ronda is much more than a place to stop for a photograph.

The city is compact enough to explore on foot, but there is plenty to discover beyond the famous bridge: historic palaces and churches, the old Arab Baths, Spain’s oldest bullring, viewpoints over the gorge, traditional restaurants and walking routes into the surrounding countryside.

Ronda also makes an excellent base for exploring the Serranía de Ronda, with its white villages, natural parks, mountains and wildlife.

I’ve lived in this part of Andalucía for around 20 years, and this guide is intended as an introduction to Ronda and a starting point for exploring the much more detailed information available here at Ronda Today.
