Ronda’s Mondragón Palace (Palacio de Mondragón) is one of the city’s most interesting historic buildings. The palace has its origins in the Islamic period, but much of what visitors see today reflects the changes made after the Christian conquest of Ronda in 1485.
Today, the palace houses the Municipal Museum of Ronda, with exhibits covering the city’s history from prehistoric times through the Roman and Islamic periods and into later centuries. The building itself is also worth exploring, with historic courtyards, gardens, decorative tilework and views across the surrounding countryside.
