The Hotel Montelirio in Ronda is built within a 17th century palace overlooking the gorge, and from which the incredible Puente Nuevo can be seen. The hotel’s classic design meshes well with the culture-rich location however all facilities are thoroughly modern to ensure visitors demanding comfort and sophistication won’t be disappointed.
All rooms feature large windows allowing for plentiful light and easy observation of views that are the envy of other hotels. The Montelirio’s rooms are decorated in bold colors to mirror colorful Andalusian culture. One imagines the red hot heat of a passionate Sevillana or the setting for a Jackie Collins novel on entering the suites at the Montelirio.
The Hotel Montelirio features an open-air swimming pool situated directly on the edge of the deep tajo, at first plunge guests often feel a sense of trepidation, but this quickly dissipates as wonder takes over. After the pool, enjoy late night drinks on the bar terrace, taking in the lights and smells of warm summer evenings.
The restaurant Albacara, part of the four star Montelirio experience, is known as one of Ronda’s better restaurants serving a selection of Mediterranean dishes intended for the discerning palate. Pricing is not exceptional, in fact most travellers find the menu to be eminently affordable, yet the range of fine foods most certainly is impressive, for example the chef’s favourite, Albacara marinaded salmon or brick pasta with Ronda black pudding.
The Hotel Montelirio offers free Wi-Fi throughout, and other VIP services such as babysitting, or an extensive library of interesting books. Car parking is available on request.
