With literally hundreds of tapas bars, restaurants and bakeries there is a lot too choose from when it comes to tasting and enjoying the local cuisine of Ronda. But, and this is a big but, some places stand out well above the rest when it comes to fine dining and high quality tapas in the white town of Ronda. Here is Ronda Todays favorite places to eat (in no particular order.) You should try to get a table at some of these places at least once during your stay!
Entrevinos
Calle Pozo 2, 29400 Ronda, Spain

From the bullring walk uphill (away from the new bridge) and you will find Calle Pozo on the right in a hundred metres or so. Entrevinos has a fantastic selection or local and national wines with exceptional tapas to match. The place is quite small so try to get there early. Its pretty much standing room only but for an afternoon or early evening snack this is the place to be before you go off for a main meal somewhere else. Or, do what I do, and just keep ordering until you can’t eat anymore :)
Mon – Sat 20:00 – 00:30
Tue – Sat 12:30 – 16:30

This is a superb restaurant with an impressive wine selection and dishes made in house from local ingredients. Located in the Plaza de Parcent the place looks quite small from the outside but has a largish dining room upstairs. I would recommend popping in to reserve your table as it fills up quickly. The house paté is exceptional as is the Iberian ham for starters and the selection of meats is impressive. If you are vegetarian then just tell the waiter and the chef will prepare you something quite special.
Open every day from 11am to midnight
Tragata
Calle Nueva, 4, 29400 Ronda (From the Plaza de Toros walk down towards the Puente Nuevo and Calle Nueve is on the left just before the bridge opposite the Parador)

With an Asian/Spanish fusion the tapas at Tragata are unforgettable and delicious, one of my favorite places to snack in Ronda! It is a small restaurant that fills quickly so get there early or make a reservation. A small wine collection but very high quality that merges with the fine food. Try the calamari sandwich or the salmon and oysters!
Open everyday 1pm to midnight
Restaurante Bodega San Francisco
Plaza Ruedo de Alameda, 27

Located in one of the oldest neighborhoods (Barrio San Francisco and Almocabar Gate) The kitchen here serves fantastic traditional cuisine of the region, strongly influenced by the Mediterranean diet, with a variety of rich, healthy and balanced dishes La Bodeguita San Francisco has a large and excellent variety of local and national wines. If you want to dine inside then a reservation is obligatory as the place is popular with locals and fills up quickly. In fine weather you can dine outside in the plaza where there are plenty of tables. Still, the popularity of this place means that even the outside tables get snatched up quickly, especially on weekends.
Open from 11am till 1am and closed on Thursdays.
Locos de Tapas (Closed untill further notice)
UPDATE: Unfortunately this great bar closed its doors in early summer 2021. Hopefully it will re open at sometime in the near future!

Located right by the Almocabar Gate, Locos de Tapas is an absolute must but be warned that the place is quite small and a reservation is pretty much obligatory. Make sure to call them well in advance to reserve your table. Turning up at the door normally ends in disappointment if you don’t book in advance! And, remember that it is closed on Sundays.
Mondays
Dinner from 19.30 – 23:00 pm
Tuesday – Saturday
Lunch from 13:00-16:00 pm.
Dinner from 19.30 – 23:00 pm
Sunday’s closed
So there you go! My favorite eating places in Ronda. (Sadly now 4! but hopefully Locos de tapas will reopen soon) Give them a try and leave a comment here to let me know how you get on. Enjoy! :)
After you have tried those 5 have a look at the Casa del Jamon… Incredible value for money and a fascinating place to visit in Ronda for fine wines and Iberian hams…. :)

We went to Tragata before we had read your review but it was truly excellent – a good bottle of local cabernet sauvignon and unusual dishes freshly and carefully prepared. It was Saturday night and buzzing. The chef, Benito Gomex, has another restaurant, Bardal, that we may try if time permits.
