I’ve been living in this lovely area of Western Andalucia for the last 20 years or so and dedicate most of my time to the running of English language tourist information websites for the towns of Cádiz, Ronda, Grazalema, the famous or infamous Caminito del Rey, and also Wildside Holidays, which promotes sustainable and eco-friendly businesses running wildlife and walking holidays in Spain. My articles contain affiliate links that will help you reserve a hotel, bus, train or activity in the area. You don’t pay more, but by using them you do support this website. Thankyou!

The Cortijo Las Piletas is a country hotel set in the midst of beautiful gardens in rural Andalusia just a few kilometres from Ronda. This hotel is family owned and operated with a focus on creating a warm appeal for guests. Thanks to its location and design, the hotel’s grounds have plenty of surprises in store for visitors.
Aside from a spacious hotel, beauty treatment services are also offered onsite. This combination provides guests a chance to pamper themselves during their vacation in this part of Spain.
The hotel’s restaurant serves a variety of dishes in its welcoming dining room, with a range of traditional drinks served at the bar which is more a lounge than bar.

Now known as the “Complejo Turistico El Sur” and just a kilometer away from the old centre of Ronda, the Camping El Sur is more a holiday camp than just camp site, with wooden self-catered bungalows for non-camping guests. Mature olive and oak trees surround the campsite making this a fantastic family holiday destination.
There are plenty of activities that guests can try when staying at Camping El Sur. The facility has a large outdoor swimming pool and child’s playground, as well as mini-golf course and table tennis. A large swimming pool and separate toddler’s pool are very popular in the warmer months.
