Hotel Al Lago is a delightful boutique hotel on the edge of the lake at Zahara de la Sierra, with just 4 rooms, but each sumptiously decorated for the discerning traveller. Add to that the world class gourmet restaurant operated by the husband and wife owners of Al Lago and you’ll discover a haven of culture and class in the very heart of the Grazalema Natural Park.
Whilst the Hotel Al Lago is small, guests can expect the very best, with gorgeous furnishings, flat screen television, Internet, air-conditioning, views of the lake, and elegant bespoke decor. All of the rooms feature French doors, wrought iron handrails, and balconies.

Zahara de la Sierra is often described as the jewel of the Sierra de Grazalema, since it is from here that many of the best walks in the park can be reached, but even more, Zahara is a pretty village with its castle fortress perched high above the village overlooking the surrounding area.
From Al Lago day trips to Ronda, Ubrique, or larger cities such as Sevilla or Jerez de la Frontera are easily contemplated, and after braving the larger cities, returning to Zahara will feel like coming home in all of the important emotional ways.
The restaurant at Al Lago features a menu of traditional and contemporary Spanish food, and a great selection of locally made wines. Vegetarians and the Gluten intolerant are particularly welcome, and all stock is made in-house by chef Stefan to satisfy every need.

I’ve been living in this lovely area of Western Andalucia for the last 20 years or so and dedicate most of my time to the running of English language tourist information websites for the towns of Cádiz, Ronda, Grazalema, the famous or infamous Caminito del Rey, and also Wildside Holidays, which promotes sustainable and eco-friendly businesses running wildlife and walking holidays in Spain. My articles contain affiliate links that will help you reserve a hotel, bus, train or activity in the area. You don’t pay more, but by using them you do support this website. Thankyou!
