Situated directly next to Ronda’s Puente Nuevo, the Hotel Don Miguel has an enviable position as the “Queen of the Tajo”, with her terrace bar below the level of the bridge, and guest rooms that directly overlook the bridge and the rocky gorge below. The Don Miguel is one of hanging houses of Ronda and the views are simply spectacular.
This is a three star hotel, which is refreshing to find in such a prime position, and whilst the hotel rooms are often booked months in advance for annual fiestas and long weekends, this shouldn’t deter new visitors to Ronda making a reservation or booking enquiry, the views alone add value for money.
Guests in the Hotel Don Miguel will find a comfortable hotel with pleasant staff, though rooms are simply decorated. All rooms are completed with television, phone, air-conditioning, and private bathroom with hair dryer. The hotel restaurant is popular with guests and Rondeños alike, and not just for the views, the menu offers traditional Andalusian and Ronda dishes from local meats, to traditional seafood, and seasonal items such as gazpacho.

The highlight of staying at the Don Miguel will naturally be the views of the new bridge and gorge, and from the hotel’s terrace it is also possible to see the Puente Romano, though this location is also central to Ronda’s other main attractions. The bullring, Arab Baths, Mondragon Palace, Lara Museum and more are all less than 300 metres away.

I’ve been living in this lovely area of Western Andalucia for the last 20 years or so and dedicate most of my time to the running of English language tourist information websites for the towns of Cádiz, Ronda, Grazalema, the famous or infamous Caminito del Rey, and also Wildside Holidays, which promotes sustainable and eco-friendly businesses running wildlife and walking holidays in Spain. My articles contain affiliate links that will help you reserve a hotel, bus, train or activity in the area. You don’t pay more, but by using them you do support this website. Thankyou!
